School and childcare

  • Extension of the school building in Bereldange and the Maison Relais
  • Extension of the Maison Relais in Walferdange and refurbishment of the recreational courtyard
  • Establishment of a ‘Bësch-Schoul’ (i.e. a small chalet in the forest that enables children in all school cycles to get projects carried out and thus gain a better knowledge of the forest biotope)
  • Psychomotor skills room in all school buildings
  • New concept for playgrounds
  • Better quality management and child-friendly dishes in school restaurants
  • Securing school tracks (improvement of signage, addition of pedestrian crossings, etc.)

Mobility

  • Cycle path in Bereldange from the Cité Grand-Duc-Jean towards rue du Pont

  • Make Nightrider services more attractive to adults
  • Bereldange/Walferdange bypass
  • Generally relaunch the easing of traffic

Sport and culture, associations

  • Introduction of a professional service of coordinators for sport and culture (this person assists associations in their administrative procedures and in organising events and coordinates relations between the various associations)
  • Bus service to drive children from the relay home to sports activities and music education
  • Adapt subsidies to associations to take account of changes in costs
  • Encourage volunteering among youth teams (financially and by the sports and cultural coordinator)
  • Financial contribution for sports coaches and music leaders in orchestra/choir for young people

Sports and cultural infrastructure

  • Construction of a new Prince Henri Centre or renovation of the existing one
  • Indoor terrain for tennis and tribune for football
  • Renovation of the Pavillon Cricket and transform it into a more attractive Clubhaus

Town centre

  • Encourage the establishment of new shops (the municipality provides business premises for local trade) which are a meeting point for the inhabitants of the municipality.
  • Pleasant quality of life in the centre: shared space between the Centre Prince Henri, the roundabout and the town hall with partial greenery of the square in front of the town hall
  • Construction of a moderately sized car park in the centre with a greenish façade that adapts from an architectural point of view to the surroundings

Infrastructure

  • Restructuring of the Campus Centre Prince Henri/Mairie/Walferdange School and Music School
  • Rehabilitation of road infrastructure (rte de Diekirch, rte de Luxembourg, rue de l’Eglise, etc.)
  • Construction of a new recycling centre
  • Negotiations with the CFL for the construction of underground tunnels if the railway crossings at rue de la Montagne and rue Mercatoris were to be abandoned.

Buildings and housing

  • No extension of the built-up perimeter
  • Finally, draw up a new general development plan (Plan d’Aménagement General) to enable a coherent, sustainable construction and with full legal certainty.
  • Provide affordable housing with priority for residents of the municipality
  • Create single-parent dwellings through a long-term lease
  • Support the “tiny house” project in a mix with single-family houses

Security

Communal services – Administration close to the citizen

  • Telephone service for citizens
  • Timetables for interviews with citizens and citizens’ consultation
  • Improve opening hours for the public
  • Improve communication with associations and make it more systematic and transparent
  • Improve digitalisation of communal services
  • Development of an application with social functions
  • Sharing system for manual work (e.g. via the Hopl App)
  • Implementation of a ‘Report-it’ system (Application to report problems or damage to public facilities)

Environment and sustainability

  • Renovation and/or capture of municipal sources
  • Develop green areas also in the centre of the locality. This includes planting important trees in order to establish a natural ventilation and temperature reduction system, particularly in summer.
  • Continue work on the renaturation of Alzette and flood protection
  • Action days for a cleaner municipality (e.g. “Groussbotz” action)
  • Grant premiums for the installation of photovoltaic systems, heat pumps and energy sanitation, etc.
  • Accelerate the construction of retention ponds (RÜB)

3nd age – seniors

  • Construction of a CIPA in Walferdange or intercommunal
  • Helpline phone system for citizens

  • Dialling tables in public buildings
