On June 11th, the DP achieved excellent results in the elections in the municipality of Contern. With an increase of 7.5% and a gain of a seat, we are the only party that has emerged strengthened from these elections. For us, this was a clear message that voters want the DP to take on more responsibility and that we have a claim to be part of the council.
For this reason, we were in contact with all parties to identify common ground. However, we also had a clear election program that we primarily wanted to adhere to, and in the last legislative period, we tried to conduct constructive and objective opposition work.
During discussions with the CSV, it quickly became evident that cooperation would be difficult over the next six years. Instead of constructive talks, our opposition politics of the past years were criticized. As a result, they decided to continue the coalition with the LSAP.
Over the past years, the DP section in the municipality of Contern has built a dynamic and motivated team. In the next six years, we will continue to engage in dedicated opposition work in the service of our citizens. Our goal is to gain the trust of the citizens and to be part of the council after the next elections. We thank all the people who have already placed their trust in us this time, and we will honor this trust with all our might.
