In a future lab on climate, environment and mobility, several DP members discussed very pragmatically how to implement good ideas and how to handle important questions in these areas on the ground. The responses and proposals of the members will also have repercussions on the framework program of the DP for the local elections.

Since February 24th, a war has been raging again in Europe and energy has been weaponized: there is now less energy, and it is becoming more expensive. In a FutureLab for municipal mandatories, examples and models of how to deal with this reality at the municipal level have been developed.

What constitutes good municipal politics? These are first and foremost a well thought out financial policy and also transparency in all areas. Over 50 participants came to very concrete conclusions at the end of the FutureLab in Nidderaanwen.

In another FutureLab, the MP and Mayor of Luxembourg city Lydie Polfer and the MP and Bettembourg alderman Gusty Graas - author of a book on the Luxembourg municipal constitution – discussed the complexity and challenges the management of a municipality can present.

Leaflets and flyers will also play their role in municipal politics in the future. But the role of social media in communication has become extremely important. In another FutureLab, it was discussed how social media can also be used in the upcoming election campaigns.

In the first FutureLab of the DP, several of our members - who are politically active at various levels - discussed housing. How to get a handle on the soaring housing prices, and what new tracks one should look at regarding housing and construction.
